Stopped by today to pick up a treat for our new dog. Our senior dog passed away a year ago today, and this past year on his birthday we took in a senior stray “hospice care” pup. She’s the sweetest and doing so well! My 3 year old and I picked out a toy and a treat “from our previous dog” as a present for our new dog to say thank you for showing up at just the right time to take care of us. Everyone at the store was SO KIND! They walked us around to pick out the best toy and gave my daughter a sucker & a sticker at check out! They clearly cared so much about our dog and helping us find the right thing for her! Thank you!

Could not have had a better experience! I walked in with my about to be 4 year old as we will be adopting 2 kittens in a few days. We were immediately greeted by a nice young man and asked if he could help with anything in particular. We told him excitedly about the upcoming kittens and he gave us a tour of the store as we talked about food, litter supplies, toys, everything. He was very knowledgeable (even gave us recommendations based on the store cat expert's personal faves, she was busy with another customer) and very sweet to my kid- she got a sticker at the end of the tour and he rolled with her 4 year old energy. At the end, fully supplied up, we were rung up by the resident cat expert who was so helpful and informative herself. She helped us walk things out to the car and wished us well. The store was clean and had wide aisles, didn't feel crowded or hectic or rushed. I was delighted to hear that there really is a Sam who owns the store- and learned that the really nice, high quality cat trees for sale are made by his friend, another local guy. We will be back to get a cat tree soon once the kittens are settled, and for more food and toys, I am sure. Great to support a local business and be helped by such nice folks.

Great selection of most everything except I would say dog leashes and harnesses. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely the go to place for a great selection of cat and dog food

Sam’s dogs and cats is THE local pet store that deserves our communities business! The customer service, community outreach, and overall love of animals is far superior compared to the national super chain. The team is extremely knowledgeable about their products, which allows for real recommendations for their customers. For example, when asked about a new “wood bone” they not only had knowledge about the product but had a chewed up example one of their fur kids tried out to show the durability of the product. They also don’t freak out when my fur kid gets super excited about visiting. It is literally a kid in a candy store situation for us, but they still welcome us, especially during Samta photos. Give Sam’s your business, they deserve all the support. 🐾

I love this place. You have a 90 day return policy. And they keep your receipts, so you don't need to. And if the dog or cat doesn't like the food, you can return it. And replace it with store credit or refund. Sam the owner is amazing and so helpful and knowledgeable.
